Takaful Brunei Darussalam holds Khatam Al-Quran

In the spirit of the Holy month of Ramadhan, about 200 personnel from Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd and its subsidiaries, Takaful Brunei Am Sdn Bhd and Takaful Brunei Keluarga Sdn Bhd held a Khatam Al-Quran and breaking of fast ceremony at the Mosque in Kampong Perpindahan Mata Mata Gadong. About 100 muslim congregants and village residents were also invited to the event.

In attendance were the Chairman of Board of Directors, Yang Dimuliakan Pehin Orang Kaya Seri Dewa Mejar Jeneral (R) Dato Seri Pahlawan Awang Haji Mohammad bin Haji Daus as the guest of honor, Board of Directors and members of the Shariah Advisory Body of Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam Sdn Bhd and its subsidiaries.

The event marked the completion of the recitation of 30 juzuk of Al-Quran. To mark the start of the ceremony, a mass recital of Surah Al-Fatihah was carried out followed by the recitation of the surah-surah lazim, takhtim and doa khatam.

A presentation of the Wakaf in the form of two (2) sets of 2.5hp split unit airconditioner and four (4) sets of book shelves cabinet which were presented by the guest of honor on behalf of Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam and its subsidiries to the Imam of Kampong Perpindahan Mata Mata Gadong Mosque.

The ceremony also saw the presentation of cash donations to twenty-three (23) orphans residing in Kampong Perpindahan Mata Mata Gadong. The donations were contributions from Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam and its subsidiaries as well as the officers and staffs of Syarikat Takaful Brunei Darussalam and its subsidiaries.

Four institutions namely Dana Pengiran Muda Mahkota Al-Muhtadee Billah, Jabatan Jal Ehwal Masjid, Pusat Ehsan Al-Ameerah Al-Hajjah Maryam and Pusat KACA were also invited to the ceremony to receive wakaf presented by the guest of honor; from the Takaful participants who joined the Takaful Amal Jariah plan product whose policies have matured.

The event was then concluded with the breaking of fast and later preceded with a mass Maghrib prayer. The ceremony was one of the annual religious activities organized by the company to enliven the month of Ramadhan.
